Ski le Gap - a teenage nirvana. 200 like minded Gap Year students, Canada's top ski instructors, Eastern Canada's number one skiing resort and enthusiastic and tolerant staff are just some of the things that make up the awesome experience which is Ski le Gap.
Ski le Gap offers a diverse range of opportunities for Gap Year students (and one computer hard ware guy with a mortgage) to learn a life long skill in skiing taught by the best instructors in Canada who also act as surrogate parents. You are offered to try your hand at instructing, free skiing, snowboarding and race coaching and be able to obtain qualifications in these. Irrespective of your initial ability by the end of the program you will be a competent and accomplished skier.
Not only do we ski hard - we play even harder; be it apres ski or a night out or a party in the brilliant gapper bar, appropriately named - "The Last Run". During the two and a half months spent in Canada solid and life long friendships are made between gappers. The combination of skiing and partying everyday for two and a half months is unbeatable. What completes this awesome Gap Year experience is the four different trips offered, including visits to Quebec City carnival, an ice hockey match in Montreal and a chance to build and sleep in an igloo on the outdoor experience. All of this is enhanced by a fantastic group of enthusiastic resident staff. Ski le Gap offered a perfect balance of skiing and partying; without doubt the best 3 months of my Gap Year - not only have all 200 of us managed to have the best time, made the closest of friends but also become certified ski pros.
