APRÁS SCHOOL GAP YEAR: TRIPS, TRAVEL, FRENCH AND FUN
More and more people are deferring their Gap Year until after University and, no surprise, more and more Ski le Gap students come and join us after their degree is finished.
Most tell us they were looking for a complete change from corridors of 'academe' after many years of intellectual study.
Spending a week or twelve up a mountain doing physically demanding work in temperatures as extreme as -25° certainly ticks that box!
People also find enormous value in a 'learning to teach' experience that helps quickly establish communication and leadership skills that translate directly to job interviews, an academic teaching career, or even The Boardroom.
Ski le Gap Alumni come back to work for us.
As you might also expect when so many young people work together with a common goal, a shared sense of achievement, and a 'work hard, play hard' mindset, it's also incredible fun. So much so in fact that every year a cross-section of Ski le Gap alumni come back to work for us and do the whole thing all over again.

'Uni was great but Ski le Gap was the greatest!
From the age of 18 I knew I wanted to go to Ski le Gap. I decided to complete my education first and go to Sheffield Hallam uni., this way I could save up and work during the summer breaks to pay for Ski le Gap. My degree was in Communication Studies and I thoroughly enjoyed it BUT after uni came Ski le Gap. It was undoubtedly the best experience of my life. It allowed me to explore two of my passions: skiing and socialising!
The ski pros are incredible, the coaching is brilliant, the food is the best, the parties are fabulous and the whole Ski le Gap team is just just superb - nothing is too much trouble.
If there's one thing that I'd want to share with everyone in my life it's the Ski le Gap experience: nothing compares to it!
After Ski le Gap (Ultimate Experience 2007) I travelled to New Zealand and used the qualifications I'd gained at Ski le Gap to teach. I have a CSIA Level I and II and a CSCF Level I.
This had been a dream of mine and it had come true.
I'm now back with the Ski le Gap family working as a residential animator. It's the best job in the world.
And I get to share with lots of lucky people the time of their lives.'

'I had so much fun on my Gap Year experience that I just could not stay away. So now I'm back working for the res team, trying to come up with new ideas to make Ski le Gap even more incredible than it already is!'
Courses are the same for Post-Uni students as for anybody else, although the opportunities for those who wish to become Professional Ski or Boarding Instructors as a career are obviously more immediate for well qualified individuals who have finished their further education.
