APRÁS SCHOOL GAP YEAR: TRIPS, TRAVEL, FRENCH AND FUN

There are any number of things you could do on your Gap Year. In our experience most people want to do something meaningful, have a very different sort of life experience, see a different culture, make a network of new life-long friends who have shared the same experiences, have some fun into the bargain and be left with a load of things to remember it all by.
If this is what you're looking for then Ski Le Gap ticks all the boxes:
It's meaningful
You'll learn how to teach skiing, get a qualification that will stay with you for life, work with children, and in doing so learn things about yourself you never thought were possible.
It's a very different experience
You may have spent years in an academic environment but learning a physical skill to a high level, and then learning in turn the skills required to teach and coach others is a completely different world and a discipline that will last for life. In particular you'll learn how to become a better communicator, both with the people you teach and the people around you.
It's a different culture
You'll be living in French Canada which gives you two different cultures to start with - French and Canadian. French is the first language and we run French improvement courses for all students, however you do not need any knowledge of French to do the course. People in the region are friendly and bilingual, happy to help you out in their first language but just as capable of speaking English!
It's a fabulous network
When you've gone through a physically demanding course with 50 or 150 other people in temperatures of -25°, and all achieved qualifications as professional ski or snowboard instructors, the sense of bonding is simply incredible. In all probability you'll never have the same intense team building experience in all your life. Ten and fifteen years gone by and all those people that we know who took the course still keep in touch with the friends that they made on Ski le Gap.
It's immense fun
As you might imagine when you put together a lot of young people with a common sense of purpose the word 'party' is never far from the surface. Everybody in the French Canadian mountains has a 'work hard, play hard' attitude to life and ski and snowboard instructors are no exception.
Lasting memories
Whether you join us for the one month Intensive Course, or the three months Ultimate Experience you'll go home a different person, with a professional qualification under your belt, and an incredible selection of memories. Many Ski le Gappers claim their weeks spent here are truly the time of their lives - who are we to disagree?
